About

Your Journey Starts Here

*Limited openings for new clients Whether you have stumbled upon my page for yourself or for a loved one, know that I see you already. Seeking support requires self-awareness, courage, and strength. So the fact that you are here reading this now, suggests that you have the courage and willingness to start this journey. I would be honored to help you through this process. What type of person am I? I am down to earth, genuine, compassionate, and I’ve got a great sense of humor. I love being active and soaking in nature, and I also love snuggling up on the couch and watching a good show. I am an artist, a musician, and an animal lover. I do identify as nonbinary, transmasc and use they/he pronouns. What type of therapist am I? I am a person-centered therapist. I believe each person has the capacity and instinct for meaningful change and growth. I meet individuals where they are at and provide a genuine, nonjudgmental, and empathic approach to support people on their personal journey. I tailor my approach to each individual, as there is no one approach that will work for everyone. Together we will figure out what type of therapy would work best for you and what type of approach you are needing to meet your goals. I will say that I do not believe in “band-aiding” symptoms. While solution-focused therapy can provide temporary relief, I believe it is important to target the source of the concern in order to achieve lasting change. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused CBT. I am trained in working with individuals on the autism spectrum and am currently working towards my Autism Specialist certification. I am also in training to become a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP), which involves incorporating lifestyle choices such as nutrition and exercise to improve mental health. What is my experience like? I spent 5 years (2016-2021) working in child and family services at a community mental health agency and the last year in private practice. Because I have such depth and breadth of experience, I’m capable of responding confidently to various types of needs. I have experience working with individuals combating anxiety, depression, suicidality, trauma, and psychosis. I also have extensive experience working with neurodivergent kids and teens (Autism, ADHD). I primarily work with youth, teens, and young adults ages 9 to 30. Therapy with kids and teens: Whether your child is struggling with peer or family issues, adjustment challenges, anxiety, depression, attention difficulties, gender dysphoria, or if they are just needing a safe place to talk, I can provide support. The aim is to help build and nurture self-esteem and confidence, improve essential social-emotional skills, and create strong and healthy relationships with family, friends, and community. I believe in the value and importance of including parents/caregivers in the counseling process. This is why I also offer parent support sessions. Therapy with neurodivergent kids and teens: I am experienced, and very much interested, in working with neurodivergent youth (Autism, ADHD, highly sensitive people). I can help support your child in navigating the complexities of this world, including building social skills to improve confidence in social situations, improving communication skills and ability to advocate needs, and developing a stronger attunement with thoughts, feelings, emotions. The aim is the same as above: to help nurture self-esteem and confidence, improve social-emotional skills, and improve relationships with family, friends, and community. I encourage parent involvement and offer parent support sessions. Therapy with young adults/adults: I became a therapist because I truly care about others and I want to help people realize their full potential and become their authentic selves. I understand the deep discomfort and dis-ease that anxiety, depression, trauma, and dysphoria can have on our lives. Our goal together is to process life experiences and stressors in order to alleviate and lift whatever symptoms you may be experiencing. I will help you explore various aspects of your life as you embark on the journey of becoming your true self. Becoming your true self requires a deep understanding of your values and beliefs, as well as where they came from. Our work together will leave you feeling empowered and more in control of your life. The work we do together will be transformational, but it will also take time, patience, and compassion for yourself. You cannot become your true, authentic self by remaining where you are at. You deserve a life you feel confident in, with relationships and experiences that feed your soul. ** I do offer some sliding scale options for clients who demonstrate financial hardship. I can also provide you with a “superbill” to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. I am only credentialed with Premera.
